At its core, MYFT is about so much more than football, it’s about building Jewish community, celebrating tradition, and creating space for meaningful connection. As Jewish students at the University of Michigan, we launched this tournament with the vision of using a staple of campus culture, football, to bring together Jewish students from across the country in a way that feels fun, authentic, and deeply rooted in who we are. MYFT creates a space where Jewish identity is celebrated both on and off the field. Shabbat programming, spirited davening, divrei Torah, and a powerful sense of achdut infused the weekend with meaning. We were proud to show off the vibrant Jewish life that exists here at Michigan, and even prouder to build something that allowed others to experience it firsthand.
